Day 1 ~ SecretsFused together – restricting.
Forced to remain closed. Confined inhabitants enclosed and encased by their confidences. Lips locked – unyielding. Pressure building within; filled to bursting with remnants of a history. Mind muddled – confusing. Pieces of the puzzle form – joined together pice-by-thought, unrevealing in nature… |
Day 2 ~ Train RideI sit in my rightful position.
A chair, upright and vertical. I hear the wheels insistant hiss, as we slowly begin our voyage. I watch as scenes quickly appear and disappear before us. A variety of noises within the carriage provides a bustle of activity among the exhuberant travellers. Watching as children produce games, treats and books, while parents watch with smiles. Couples holding hands; whispering sweet nothings from anticipating lips to ear. I feel content in my own commuter world – sat with book in hands and eyes on window; seeing towns and cities pass by in a hazy migratory blur. I look on, reminded of Shakespeare; “We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;” as our train pulls into another station my stop – my destination – my arrival. |
Day 3 ~ HandbagMy handbag reflects me as an individual;
it holds belongings to me that are personal. A purse disclosing my current wealth painkillers to reinstate my health. A notebook to grip my internal notions - alongside a book that evokes emotions. A spare bag to carry what I acquire; money in my purse slowly burning fire. Business cards, as I'm always prepared with a brush enclosed to arrange my hair. A pen to scribble down important notes and a silk scarf to warm my throat. This is my bag that shows the true me bringing forth elements of my identity. What does your handbag say about you... |
Day 4 ~ HappinessRainbows over clouds,
shining through trees; illuminating flower beds. Children sing through slats in wooden fences; whilst bouncing a ball. Lavenders' scent fills the space between grass and tarmac. Tasting the bread being baked in ovens in houses on pavements. Sauntering between cars into the wilderness surrounding the city. A lake filled with mallards acts as a frame, watching the sun gradually lowering. The days close laying ahead. |
